Our Facilities
Prayer Hall (Musallah)
The primary facility in any mosque is the prayer hall, where Muslims gather for daily prayers, Friday congregational prayers (Jumu’ah), and special prayers during Islamic festivals. The prayer hall typically includes a mihrab (prayer niche) indicating the direction of Mecca (qiblah) and a minbar (pulpit) from which sermons are delivered.
Separate Prayer Areas
We have separate prayer areas for men and women. In others, both men and women pray together in the same prayer hall, but with designated spaces for each gender.
Wudu (Ablution) Area
We have facilities for ablution (wudu), where worshippers can perform the ritual purification required before prayers. This area typically includes sinks and water taps.
Library and Resource Centre
We have a library and resource centre with books, literature, and multimedia materials related to Islam and Islamic studies. These resources are available for research and learning.
Education and Classroom Spaces
We offer educational programs for children and adults. We have classrooms or dedicated spaces for Quranic studies, Arabic language classes, and Islamic education.
Community Gathering Spaces
We serve as a community centre where members of the Muslim community come together for social gatherings, educational workshops, cultural events, and meetings. These spaces include multipurpose rooms or halls.
Cafeteria or Kitchen Facilities
We have kitchen facilities that are used to prepare meals for communal events and for providing iftar (the meal to break the fast) during Ramadan (see below).
Restrooms
We provide restroom facilities for worshippers and visitors.
Office and Administrative Areas
We have an administrative office where mosque staff and volunteers handle day-to-day operations, manage events and coordinate community services.
Children’s Play Area
We provide designated play areas for young children to use during services or events.
Funeral and Burial Facilities
We have facilities for washing and preparing deceased members of the community for burial, including dedicated rooms and preparation areas.
Parking
We have parking facilities or arrangements for worshippers and visitors, especially in urban areas.
Security Measures
We have security measures in place to ensure the safety of worshippers and the facility itself.
Accessibility Features
We have accessibility features to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
